The shortcode {event_registration} is used to automatically tag a Mautic contact as registered for an event when they click a link in an email. Note that to make the code work - substitute {} with [] brackets!
When to use
Use this shortcode whenever you want a one-click “YES, I’m attending” confirmation that simply adds a tag to the contact in Mautic.
It is ideal for:
- Event registrations
- RSVP confirmations
- Simple webinar signups
- Interest tagging
If you plan a larger webinar with automatic reminder emails etc, go for the more advanced solution with a separate landingpage here.
What It Does
- Reads the
IDparameter from the URL (e.g.?ID=123), which should contain the Mautic contact ID. - Uses ClickVerifier to block scanners, prefetchers, and email client auto-clicks.
- If the click is verified as real, the shortcode triggers a
PATCHrequest to Mautic and adds one or more tags to the contact. - Displays a success message on the page (customizable).
How To Use It in WordPress
- Add the shortcode to any WordPress page:
{event_registration tag="Event: Webinar 2025"}- You may set multiple tags separated by commas:
{event_registration tag="Event: Webinar 2025, VIP"}
- You may set multiple tags separated by commas:
- In your Mautic email, link to the page like this:
https://yourdomain.com/my-event-page/?ID={contactfield=id}
